It’s taken me 40 years to realise what was right under my pig-headed Taurean nose! I grew up watching my Grand-Nan coach my Mum in reading Tarot and Tea Leaves.
I was 5 when I brewed my first Witches ‘brew’ for my Mum’s Tea Leaf Readings, and her Tarot cards were regularly all over the dinner table!
I resisted the cards myself. Oh I made a right meal of resisting them! Even when I reached the heady heights of an Intuitive and Spiritual Guide to awakening women all over the world, I resisted Tarot. Even though I knew the cards so well I resisted. Even though it’s in my ancient bloodline I resisted!! I have to say that I can only see this in hindsight. I didn’t know at the time!
Q: Why do I think I resisted?
A: The Witch Wound!
Mum was terrified of her own gifts. She’d been ridiculed and beaten for them in this lifetime and no doubt persecuted and/or executed in previous ones. She handed the fear onto me and strongly discouraged me.
Well, no more. I surrender!
I whole-heartedly surrender. (My brother presenting me with our late Mum’s original cards confirmed it!).
And of course the moment you do let go the floodgates open and magic happens. Everything comes together. Doors open. Ideas and intuition flows. And new beginnings await…

(Little pink broomstick – A gift from my friend Emma and her Il Camino pilgrimage)
Do you find yourself hiding your oracle card decks when your Mother visits?
Are you silent about your spiritual beliefs around your Church friends?
Do you go through waves of panic and fear just thinking about stepping out of the Spiritual Closet and doing the healing/intuitive/psychic/spiritual work you’ve always wanted to do?
Have you realised that your mental and physical health suffers when you suppress your true self, intuitive/healing gifts and abilities?
If you answered YUP! then you’re probably experiencing what I describe as the ‘Witch Wound’.

There are many reasons why women hold themselves back from stepping into their full potential but as Venus goes into retrograde let’s look at one of the biggies.
As a woman starts to awaken and her consciousness expands she begins to tap into the collective experience and shared ‘pain body’ of woman.
Every month with our cycle we tap even deeper into that shared sisterhood experience.
As her passion and purpose begin to stir within her she faces the dark places that hold us all back.
One of which is the fear of what happens when an awakened woman decides to “put her head above the parapet” and dare to be seen.

Another deeply personal sharing….
I’ve been feeling irritated and restless about my work lately, frustrated and wanting to ‘push the river’ to get clear about the next steps in my ever-evolving soulful business.
After a lot of breathing and meditating I’ve realised old power that I gave away is now returning to me.
Bits of me are coming back.
When power starts to return it’s normal to get a bit angry. So it seems I’m right on track!

Do you give too much? Is it always you that makes the effort?
We loving, caring, sensitive souls can end up giving our power away and falling into the trap of over-giving. But why?

When we are highly sensitive, empathic and intuitive or are navigating the inner shifts of awakening, we can become very impressionable and easily lose ourselves.
Other people and their opinions and realities can draw us in, causing us to drift away from our own truth. Social media can fill our energy fields with multiple viewpoints and energy deposits every day. Plus we tend to be more open to other realms and spirits and the collective experience and so can forget who we are.
This isn’t because we are weak souls, not by any means, our sensitivity is our strength, however, as Empaths we take on the thoughts and feelings of others every day and they can cloud our own reality and make us scattered, fragmented and ungrounded.
This can cause us to lose our energy and power without even knowing it’s happening.

Have you stopped trusting yourself when it comes to making the key choices in your life? Have you lost confidence or connection with your inner voice? Have you lost your ‘Intuitive Mojo?’
Whenever life gets loud and busy it’s easy to lose sight of our internal ‘sat nav’ system. The outside voices and demands drown out our quiet inner guidance.

OK let me say right away this isn’t about what size you are or trying to make you feel you need to be slimmer. Gawd! There’s enough of that pressure on women around already. No this is about understanding why as Empaths our bodies can behave so strangely and how to let go of emotional weight that is affecting you in more important ways than the number on your clothing label!
We sensitives, intuitives and empaths have a tendency to carry emotional weight. Maybe it acts as a buffer against the energy of other people and places, maybe it’s because we comfort eat to ground ourselves again after getting overstimulated by said energies or perhaps there is an accumulation of energy in our bodies that isn’t ours.
Maybe it’s all of those things.
Can you relate? Does this ring true for you?

“Do you know how courageous you are?”
I was moved to tears the other day when my dear friend Charo Pinilla of ‘Tapping Your Purpose‘ said those words to me.
All I could do was gulp and say “thank you”.
In those words she was acknowledging how hard it must have been all these years (about 16 so far) to walk my path alone, without people who really understand, to keep trusting, to get up each morning knowing that I had been through something extraordinary, a spiritual crisis and awakening that was off the charts and that it wasn’t respected or recognised in my culture.
She was acknowledging how hard it is to live in a world knowing that who you are, what you have experienced and what you believe gets sneered at or even worse could get me locked up for being a crazy person if I say the wrong thing to the wrong person.
